Public education is the cornerstone of our nation's success - one nation, with liberty and justice for all. A strong and healthy public education system in every community is essential to achieving this vision.
Our commitment to public education promises that neither privilege nor hardship will dictate an individual's future. By providing a robust and vibrant public education system to every child, we can fulfill this promise.
For over two decades, under Republican leadership, Arizona has become a testing ground for out-of-state anti-public education policies, leading to suffering for our public schools and students. Currently, Arizona ranks 50th in the nation for quality of education and 48th in per-pupil spending. This must change.
This November, we have the opportunity to elect a pro-public education majority to the state legislature. I pledge to be part of that majority, standing alongside public school students, parents, teachers, school counselors, bus drivers, and all who work daily to strengthen our educational foundation. We will restore funding, recruit and retain certified teachers for every classroom, and prioritize affordable post-high school educational options, including community colleges and technical schools.
